Named after dedicated Sonoma leader and Rotarian Capt. Howard “Howie” Ehret, who passed away in 2011, the grill has hoists, pulleys, wings, ceilings, and cutting boards that fold down, flip up, and basically do more for a burger, a dog, and a slab of ribs, than Ehret ever could have imaged.

Ehret was the Rotarian Grill Meister and the Barbecue Beast was officially christened in his honor with a liter of Miller High Life, The Champagne of Bottled Beer.

“The Howie”, with the help of Volunteer Rotarians, cranked out 200 hot dogs and over 1500 burgers, and ample cookies, salads, and beverages. Of choice. Of course.
