OneBar Boasts Baobab as the Super Fruit Ingredient Kids Love

Posted by John Foley

When the OneBar creators decided to use Baobab fruit as one of the five ingredients in their new snack bar they had no idea they were ahead of the curve, possibly setting a trend, and adding more benefits, directly attributed to Baobab, than other bars on the market today. It wasn’t until co-founder Anna Hindley attended Anuga, Germany’s largest food expo, that she realized by using the super-fruit, Baobab, she was raising the bar, OneBar at a time.

They were ground breaking in their quest for a healthy snack for their kids. Knowing the kids get hungry, fast at the same time concerned about quality and healthy ingredients, the moms at OneBar decided to develop their own snack food.

“We wanted our kids to enjoy a snack but I also wanted it to be good for them”, Hindley explains. We decided to take matters into our own hands, or should we say kitchen. And, we also wanted something that wouldn’t melt, stick or drip. A non-messy, healthy kids snack was almost impossible to find in the marketplace.

After searching northern California grocery stores for a healthy alternative she realized there wasn’t much to choose from that her kids would enjoy. That’s why we decided to create “OneBar.”

The name, OneBar, is derived from a simple fact: Each bar contains one pure serving of fruit with no added sugars or other additives. According to Hindley, OneBar is “the perfect size snack for kids” while still being loved and enjoyed by the entire family.

The guilt-free bars are allergy-free, dairy-free, and gluten free, but are packed with super-fruit antioxidants.

Baobab is called the “super fruit” for a reason. Resembling a cross between a coconut and a papaya, the fruit naturally dehydrates an the pulp offers six times the antioxidants of blueberries, six times the vitamin C of oranges, six times the potassium of bananas and 50% heart healthy fiber. On top of that, it has more magnesium than coconut water, twice as much calcium as milk and is ethically and sustainably harvested.

Why eat anything else?

Hindley claims her ingredient deck is not only about what’s been put in, but what’s been kept out. The OneBar is the perfect snack for kids on the go. There is no added sugar, gluten, peanuts or wheat and, they taste great. That makes Hindley a very proud mom. And, she is not alone in expressing her enthusiasm for her product.

“I couldn’t be more excited to share my bars with others. It is such a simple solution. It is the perfect snack,” claims Hindley.

OneBar is available in Whole Foods and other Natural Grocery as well as Williams-Sonoma, Peet’s Coffee, and other fine specialty retailers.

Excitement Prevails

“We couldn’t be more excited to share our bars,” said Hindley. The co-founder enjoys sharing the flavorful, palate pleasing bars with moms, bloggers, nutritionists and kids. Let us know if you would like to sample this great product.
