Foodie Tout acquires Mad Wills Food Company

Sonoma, CA. December 21, 2014- Foodie Tout, Inc. said today it has entered into a definitive kranagreement to acquire Mad Will’s Food Company, an Auburn, Ca. based leading manufacturer of premium natural and organic food products.

The move is an aggressive step for Foodie Tout, an internet based Artisan Purveyor accelerator. The acquisition solidifies the company’s vision as they will be the first food based Internet branding sales and marketing company that can also manufacture their clients products.

Karen Foley, CEO of FoodieTout, Inc. said “The Mad Wills acquisition will significantly expand our market presence and will also help us grow our content and ecommerce channels. We have spent the past year analyzing the needs of Artisan Purveyors and other food related businesses and found there was a void in the marketplace for small batch purveyors seeking help and advice on strategic growth. Mad Will’s has been a major force in the private label and co-packing marketplace. By combining quality food products with a robust, sales and marketing food related platform and toss in a few tablespoons of entertainment, I believe we are introducing a completely new model in food positioning.”

“We know by combining Mad Will’s client and product list with the Foodie Tout portfolio of services, including social marketing,OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Foodio Studio, content creation and distribution, we have developed a model based on needs and found a system to monetize those needs, both for the company and the client. The one ingredient we add that no other small batch food manufacturer has is the expertise to package the story of our clients and broadcast it to the masses enjoying their products.” Said John Foley, a partner in Foodie Tout.

“The specialty food industry is experiencing a major consolidation making it difficult for smaller artisan products to get on the grocer’s shelves,” states Karen Foley, adding, “We are disrupting the traditional co-packing model by offering brand building tools and social marketing programs to help small to mid-size food purveyors and retailers compete in a very competitive marketplace. We also look to bring specialty artisan purveyors products to the foodservice world, offering restaurateurs the opportunity to sample regional and customized flavors.”

Foodie Tout, Inc. is the parent company of FoodieDaily.com, FoodioStudio.com, Foodie5Star.com, FoodieTout.com and FoodieCrowdFunding.com, which are the major components of the company’s platform. The company is currently developing a series of purveyor based videosodes featuring the artisan and the foods they produce.

Adjacent to the Mad Will’s manufacturing facility sits a 16,000 square foot video production studio that will play host to FoodioStudio’s content creation department featuring food and those who make it.

“Most companies perform work they are contracted for and then the Artisan Purveyor is out the door until the next batch is run. We’re different. We start with a solid strategic plan and work from there. Eventually, everyone needs a strategic plan to produce a successful product that can grow. We’re all about building brands, not just producing products.” said Karen Foley

“We have seen more changes in food manufacturing over the past ten years than we have in the 20 years before,” said Gil Hilleary, General Manager of Mad Wills.

Hilleary who was a Manager at DelMonte for over 30 years joined Mad Will’s a decade ago.

The G.M. elaborated, “Our development team realized if our clients were to grow, they needed help. While some manufacturers guide through the production process we also guide our clients to the grocer’s shelves and to the consumer’s table through support services both pre and post manufacturing.”

Since 1979 Mad Will’s has been producing quality co-packing and private label products for top retailers and artisan purveyors across the country. Whether a small batch purveyor or an established brand with a national plan, Mad Wills offers services unavailable through other traditional manufacturers.

“One of the greatest assets of this acquisition is the dedicated group of employees that have worked so hard to build a great company with an incredible reputation. When we looked at Mad Will’s as a company, everyone on the staff stood out. They are great employees. We’re going to do some really interesting things to help change the flavor of the food industry, said Karen Foley.”
