The North Bay is about to get a rare and wonderful treat; Charles Phan is bringing the Slanted Door to Marin to celebrate the launch of his much-anticipated cookbook, The Slanted Door: Modern Vietnamese Food. The book features many of the restaurant’s iconic recipes, showcases an extensive section on cocktails, and features an in depth look into their esteemed wine program.
The cookbook follows the story of the restaurant’s genesis and rise to fame. Phan’s love of fresh ingredients and the blending of tradition with cutting edge are clearly seen on every page of this vibrant cookbook. An award winning chef and restaurateur, Phan’s ability to make his food accessible and elegant is his gift and the recipes in his cookbook appeal to amateur and professional alike.
Charles Phan will be in conversation with KQED’s four-time Emmy award winning journalist, anchor and program host Thuy Vu. Guests will receive copies of The Slanted Door cookbook and the event will feature selected samples from their iconic menu.
